BVD Emergency Response Team First Aid Station & Bike Patrol
Want to joint our team? New Members are welcome for 2012 season. The BVD Emergency Response Team is looking for dedicated and keen responders to join our team. Throughout the summer months, the team services community and sports events, providing a first aid station, bike patrol, on-field emergency response, and assessment of musculoskeletal injuries. Potential Crew Member Qualities A potential crew member would possess a community oriented mindset, dedication to lifelong learning, the ability to communicate with patients when they need someone the most, and the ability to work in a team environment. Team Benefits As a volunteer for the BVD Emergency Response Team, each responder will receive first aid and CPR training for healthcare professionals, training to use other first responder equipment, such as a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, oxygen administration, airway maintenance, immobilization, and athletic therapy training, such as musculoskeletal joint assessment, taping and bracing, blister management, and concussion assessment. At the end of the team training weekend, successful applicants will become a crew member of the BVD Emergency Response Team, receive a certificate of training completion and certification, ID badge, and will be covered under BVD Emergency Training's insurance. At each event during the season, responders will receive training on a different topic to further your education. At the end of the season, or when needed, each responder will receive a reference letter with BVD's highest recommendation. Regardless of whether you're in it for the free tan and a hotdog or you just need a place to refine your patient assessment skills, the satisfaction you receive from helping people and saving lives outweighs all other motives.
