Terms and Conditions
It is the students responsibility to understand the following terms and conditions below before any of the following situations arise. Any changes to the terms and conditions will be announced on the BVD Website under news.

1.0 Missed courses with notice: If for any reason a student cannot attend a course that they have previously registered and paid for, the student should email BVD at admin@bvdemergencytraining.com 12 hours before the course starts. Course start times can be found on the website, www.bvdemergencytraining.com. The student’s payment will be kept on file and applied to the next course date that student registers for and attends, without penalty. Therefore, no additional fees will be added or subtracted. The same will apply if a student attends a portion of the course and becomes ill or for some reason is unable to attend the remaining portion of the course. All course hours are expected to be made up before a certification card can be issued.

1.1 Missed courses without notice: If for any reason a student cannot attend a course that they have previously registered and paid for and they did not provide BVD with notice via email as explained in 1.0, the student’s payment will be kept on file and applied to the next course date that student registers for and attends, however a $10 missed course fee will be charged requiring the student to pay that amount before they can start the course.

1.2 Transfer of payment to another person: If for any reason a student cannot attend a course that they have previously registered and paid for, the student’s payment will be kept on file and applied to the next course date that student registers for and attends, without penalty except in the case of terms and conditions 1.1. However, if the student would like to transfer that fee over to a family member or another person they can do so without penalty. They would just have to email BVD from the email address that they had their confirmation of registration sent to upon registration, state that they would like to apply their course fee or remained of their course fee to another person, provide BVD with that person’s name and then tell that person to register and note in the comments section of the online registration that they are taking over the registration payment already made by the previous student.

1.3 Cancellation prior to registered course: Once a payment for a course is made and received by BVD in any form (online payment through the BVD website, cash, cheque etc.) a refund will not be issued in full if the student decides to cancel their registration. An administration fee of fifteen dollars will be applied and the remaining monies refunded. If the student’s payment was received electronically it will be refunded electronically. If the student’s payment was made with either cash or cheque it will be refunded by cheque issued from BVD Emergency Training.

1.4 Cancellation after a missed course: Once a payment for a course is made and received by BVD in any form (online payment through the BVD website, cash, cheque etc.) a refund will not be issued in full if the student decides to cancel their registration. An administration fee of fifteen dollars will be applied as well as five dollars per week charged starting one week prior to the missed course date until the date of written cancellation is received by BVD. Remaining monies will be calculated and then refunded. If the student’s payment was received electronically it will be refunded electronically. If the student’s payment was made with either cash or cheque it will be refunded by cheque issued from BVD Emergency Training in the name of the student who registered and mailed out to the address on the registration form unless otherwise specified in writing to BVD to send it to another address.

1.5 Cancellation of the whole course while in attendance: Once in attendance of a course that you have registered and paid for (online payment through the BVD website, cash, cheque etc.) a full refund will not be granted. If you would like to transfer to another day for any reason (family emergency, sickness etc.) to complete the same course you can do so with no penalty. Your completion cards will not be issued to you until you complete the course in full. However, any course materials given to you (handouts, course manuals etc) are yours to keep. When you would like to finish the course just send an email to admin@bvdemergencytraining.com and ask for permission to attend a posted community course date. If there is room for you in that course date specified you will be granted to complete the course on that date agreed upon by you and BVD Emergency Training in writing. Upon the full completion of the course you will be be given your completion cards.

1.6 Cancellation of part of a course while in attendance: Once in attendance of a course that you have registered and paid for (online payment through the BVD website, cash, cheque etc.) a full refund will not be granted. If you registered and paid for First aid and CPR and you realize that you only require CPR, a full refund cannot be granted. Your first aid material must be returned in good order (no pen or pencil marks made on/in the book and in new appearance). A refund of $15 will be returned if the book is in good order. Only $10 will be returned if the book is not in good order. If the student’s payment was received electronically it will be refunded electronically. If the student’s payment was made with either cash or cheque it will be refunded by cheque issued from BVD Emergency Training.

2.0 Cheque Payment – Non-sufficient funds: If a payment is made via cheque and the funds are not received due to insufficient funds, a twenty five dollar fee and a replacement payment will be required. An electronic replacement payment is preferred via the BVD Website with either Visa, MasterCard, Discover, PayPal, Amex or Echeck. Until the payment is received in full any certification cards that were issued are considered invalid by BVD Emergency Training. In the event that confirmation letters are requested from us from the student, students workplace or school will not be issued until the course fee is paid for in full. In the event that a confirmation call from the student, students workplace or school is made the student’s course completion status will be listed as ‘incomplete, due to lack of payment’ and will not be changed until the remaining balance is paid for in full.

3.0 Misplaced card replacement/extra copies: The cost for a replacement or extra copy of your certification card can be seen on the Card Replacement Page

4.0 Cancelling a Class after Receiving Online Portal Access: If you have been issued a log in for the online portion of the course and decide to not complete the course there is no refund that can be given. Your payment will be held until you are able to take the practical training.

We look forward to seeing you in the classroom! Please bring your payment receipt with you to the course. We will send you a confirmation of registration form via email regardless of your payment method. This confirmation is just for your records and is not necessary for you to attend the course.
