Course Description and Designs

Online Portion - Theory Portion of the Training - 6-8 hour
ONLINE TRAINING - Standard First Aid, CPR and AED The Online First Aid & CPR/AED course is easy to use, interactive, and effective. The program includes different modules covering important life-saving skills and knowledge. Each module has a quiz designed to ensure your understanding of the subject matter. Once completed you will receive a temporary letter from Perri-Med which is valid for 90 days. This 6-8 hour online course covers all the skills in Standard First Aid plus scene survey, patient assessment, choking, CPR Skills (Level C or BLS), AED awareness, bleeding wounds, shock, broken bones, poisoning, diabetes, medical conditions, heat/cold injuries and more. If you wish to receive official, WSIB approved Perri-Med certificates, you must register for and attend a practical skills in-class training session within 90 days of completing your online course.

In-Person Practical Portion of the Training - 6-8 hour
INCLASS PRACTICAL - This First Aid and CPR+AED IN-CLASS program is designed to provide course participants with the practical skills for Standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and public access defibrillation (AED). Skills include: casualty management, treating shock, bleeding, spinal injury, splinting, and a variety of other first aid skills. Candidates must present the ONLINE certification to enter the in-class course. be achieved when you combine the ONLINE knowledge and the IN-CLASS participation for practical skills development, skills testing and a final written exam. Registered candidates receive a first aid e-manual. Successful candidates receive a Standard First Aid card valid for three years, and CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) or CPR BLS for Health Care Professionals card for 1 year.
  NOTE: If you need the CPR BLS for Health Care Professionals you will be be upgraded when you take the practical and receive the CPR BLS CPR/AED designation along with your First Aid.

I agree that the Board of Governors of the University of Windsor, BVD Emergency Training/Solid Foundation or its employees, servants or agents shall not be liable for any injury to my person or loss or damage to my personal property arising from my participation in these activities, unless such injury, loss or damage is caused by the sole negligence of the University of Windsor or its employees or BVD Emergency Training/Solid Foundation or its employees, servants or agents while acting in the scope of their duties.
